“Nuestro LA”  a landmark event, an evening with Latino professionals, community leaders, and students from throughout Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire) converging at the Bonaventure for an evening of networking and a celebration of unity. Over 1,400 attendees,  a networking opportunity like no other and isn’t it needed during these difficult times!
La Mancha Gallery presented the Artworks of David Taveras (Dominican Republic), Xavier Yarto (Mexico City), Nestor Rodriguez (Puerto Rico), Maria Teresa (Zacatecas, Mexico), Benjamin Archundia (Mexico City) and Eddie Jelinet (US and Mexico).

ABOUT THE LATINO PROFESSIONAL NETWORK

The Latino Professional Network, founded in Los Angeles in September of 1999, stands as one of the largest and preeminent associations of Latino professionals, community leaders, and students in the country. Since its inception, the LPN’s guiding precept and goal was to galvanize and unify the ever- growing community of Latino Professionals in the United States. The LPN also seeks to harness the skills, education, resources, and passion of Latino Leaders to assist the next generation of leaders and support the community at large. The LPN has also constantly strived to build bridges between all the communities that contribute to our collective diversity.
Nearly ten years ago, the LPN was a nascent idea among young friends. With the help of supporters and friends (coupled with the naivette of youth), the LPN quickly grew at an exponential and unprecedented rate. The LPN’s immediate growth can largely be attributed to its production of innovative events, its usage of technology, and the gregarious nature of its young founders. The LPN modernized the concept of mass social networking among Latinos and created the definitive model for hosting successful networking events. This model has withstood the test of time.

LPN Networking Events are born from the philosophy that meaningful professional relationships, friendships, and dialogue are engendered in fun, lively, and relaxed setting. With such themes as “Havana Nights”, ” A Summer Night in Sevilla” and “Una Noche en Guadalajara”, these events attract between 900 and 1500 professionals nearly every month.

Project Description

The City of Glendale Arts and Culture Commission has asked La Mancha Gallery to participate on the 6th Annual Studio Tour set for Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 12 pm to 6 pm. Glendale artists and art organizations will open up their studios to the public. This free, self-guided tour is a rare opportunity to peek into the studios and creative minds of many talented and award winning artists who live and work in City of Glendale.

Artists from Burbank, Los Angeles, Pasadena and other cities in the region will also exhibit their art alongside Glendalians and become part of this valuable tradition in the City of Glendale.

From July 17 – August 13 all participating artists will showcase one of their best pieces at the Brand Library Art Galleries located at 1601 West Mountain between Grandview and Western during library’s open hours. The Tour and the Reception is free to the public. Everyone is welcome.

La Mancha Gallery will offer curatorial assistance and feature the artworks of Andrea Vargas, Baron Norris, Benjamin Murguia, David Taveras, Deborah Ashe, Eddie Jelinet, Ivan Holguin, Marcus Collins, Maria Teresa Chavez, Marina K. Rehrmann, Minas Halaj, Natalie Franco, Nicole Franco, Novei Beige, Samvel Hallaj, Silvio Sangiorgi, and Xavier Yarto.

The Open Studio Tour is sponsored by the City of Glendale’s Community Services and Parks Department, Arts & Culture Commission, Brand Library, a division of the Glendale Public Library, and the Associates of Brand Library and Art Center.

All participating artists showcased their best pieces at the Brand Library Art Gallery located at 1601 West Mountain during library’s open hours. Outdoor Installation

La Mancha Gallery featured an outdoor art installation at the 4,500 square foot Chess Park. The installation featured a artists represented by La Mancha Gallery presented collage of props to accentuate the artwork. The installation by Stephen M. Gates created a pleasing aesthetic that gave the viewer a chance to connect with the artist and his/her artwork

Project Description

Hector Pedraza, owner of NOVA Framing Gallery in Pasadena began painting since he was at a very young age in his native country of Colombia. Hector Pedraza’s rich canvases bring together the intellectual viewpoint of the original abstract expressionists, combined with the aesthetics of surrealism to create the sparse challenges of the minimalists, and the unfettered, primal qualities of humanity.

Aside from a mild manner business man, Hector is a renown artist know for his abstracts paintings, Hector’s choice of materials are canvas,oil paints, black pens, and acrylics, a tremendous force in the art community, Hector sets an example to many young and mid career artists by hosting monthly art exhibits at his location in Pasadena.
For the last 28 years, Hector Pedraza has been the boss of Nova Picture Framing & Gallery in Pasadena, where quality, honesty and craftsmanship goes into every piece, from an expensive oil painting to memorabilia or a diploma, Hector frames everything himself.

Pedraza is a long time member of The Pasadena Society of Artists and a City of Pasadena resident for the last 28 years as well.

La Mancha Gallery will have His work on display at Sabor 2 in Pasadena for the month of July & August 2010. On display there will be  approximately 20 pieces of Pedraza’a artwork.

Sabor 2 Cafe in Pasadena was a casual eatery with an ample menu of smoothies, salads, soups, sandwiches, pastries, bagels & coffee. Sabor 2 Cafe Closed its doors in 2012

We must not forget their continued struggle, the work in Haiti is long-term, we can work together, not to change our situation in one day, but step by step. The relief work continues: On Friday, June 4th, 2010, La Mancha Gallery and its Artists committed to support the continued Haiti earthquake relief and recovery plans in Haiti. La Mancha Gallery donated the works of Artists Natalie Franco, David Taveras, Eddie Jelinet, Minas Halaj and Samvel Hallaj, as well as donated their time and effort to help raise money for the relief process in Haiti. As a result $10,000 dlls where raised during a silent auction and a benefit titled “Shake for The Quake“, held at the All Saints Church in the City of Pasadena. La Mancha Gallery will be supports ER&D (Episcopal Relief & Development), a group of some of the world’s largest humanitarian relief organizations, which focuses on creating economic opportunities for Haitians and rebuild local infrastructure. The effort continues… We encourage you to continue supporting this important work. NUMBER OF WORKS UNDER CONSIGNMENT: 6 FRAME SIZES: Various SPACE REQUIREMENTS: 30 linear feet (10 linear meters)

Pasadena, CA, AUGUST 21, 2009- ENCORE AT THE BRALEY-Art Exhibit. —Although it was short lived, due to a conflicting schedule from the building owners, this event had a very successful opening day. We put together some of the most successful artists in this City.

A special evening of Art and Culture, featuring 30+ local and international artists, poetry, music, dance and much more. The event is a collaborative effort of Independent Artists, Curators & Galleries. This event is dedicated to showcasing and exploring new contemporary art practices and artists who explore issues as they relate to identity, new urbanism, architecture, and the environment. La Mancha Gallery will feature the artwork of Hea-Sook Yoo, Nicole Franco, Natalie Franco, Xavier Yarto, Minas Halaj, Samuel Hallaj, Eddie Jelinet, James Hill, Fernando Lozano, Ella Sarkisyan, Ashot Khudaverdyan, Christine Caldwell, Floris van Breugel, Gavin Scott, William Silver, Marina K. Rehrmann, Holly Hood, Alexander Sadoyan, Bruce Gray, Narine Isajanyan, Mais Hovsepian, Ralph Berko, David Hovhannisyan, Armineh Teimourian, Allison Peck, Guillermo Bert, Jim Marx, Joey Quirk, Angelika Mehrens, Donald Frazell, Steve Johnstone, Paul Paggi.

“ENCORE AT THE BRALEY” was on display from August21to August22, 2009 at 35 South Raymond Street, Pasadena, CA 91106. A Reception took place on Friday, August21st, 6:30pm-11 PM.
Subsequently, the event was cancelled abruptly by the building owners after the Event Opening
